Dante Allen, a four-star shooting guard in the class of 2025, hails from Montverde, Florida, and represents the prestigious Montverde Academy, a powerhouse in high school basketball. Allen has visited Georgia, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, with plans to visit Villanova before making further decisions.
Recently, Dallas Bowlin of the All Vol Call In Show sat down with Dante following his visit to Tennessee. Here’s what he had to say:
Q: During your visit to Tennessee, did you have any opportunities to explore the campus or the city of Knoxville outside of the basketball facilities? What were your impressions?
A: I was able to see the entire campus and most of the surrounding area. I really enjoyed it—it was probably the first really large campus I’ve been to, and I liked it a lot.
Q: Beyond basketball, how do the academic resources and opportunities at Tennessee align with your long-term goals?
A: They take a lot of pride in academics. They make sure the team stays on top of their grades and offer plenty of resources if anyone needs extra help.
Q: Was there any specific moment or conversation during your visit that made you feel a stronger connection to the program or the university?
A: Spending time with the team was the best part for me. They’re definitely guys I’d want to be around off the court, and it feels like being on the court with them would be great too.
Q: What are the key factors you’re considering as you weigh your options, and how does Tennessee measure up in those areas?
A: I’m looking for a school with a plan to help me develop and get to the next level. The coaches showed me how they help their guys do that. I also want a school that’s strong academically and has resources to support the team, even when the coaches aren’t around. Tennessee has all of that. Plus, being part of a team that really wants to win and enjoys being together is huge for me.
Dante Allen is taking a thoughtful and well-rounded approach to his recruitment, carefully weighing both athletic and academic opportunities. As he continues his journey, it will be exciting to see where he ultimately decides to take his talents. Wherever that may be, he will certainly make a major impact.
